1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing calcbold.com (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms form a binding agreement between you and CalcBold, operated by SemiSoftwares.

2. The calculators are educational — not advice

Every calculator on CalcBold is an educational tool. Outputs are based on standard formulas, reasonable defaults, and the values you enter. They do not constitute:

  • Financial, investment, or tax advice;
  • Medical, diagnostic, or clinical advice;
  • Legal advice or legal opinion;
  • A commitment from any lender, insurer, or institution.

Before making a consequential decision — signing a mortgage, changing your diet, filing taxes — consult a qualified professional in the relevant field.

3. Accuracy and limitations

We make every effort to keep formulas current and results accurate. However:

  • Tax calculators use bracket and threshold values for the listed tax year. Laws change frequently — verify against the official source (IRS Pub 17 in the US, HMRC in the UK, etc.) before relying on any number.
  • Health calculators use population-level formulas (Mifflin-St Jeor, WHO BMI, etc.) with known individual-level error margins. They are screening tools, not diagnoses.
  • Finance calculators assume standard reducing-balance amortization and do not account for fees, variable rates, prepayment penalties, or regional differences unless explicitly stated.

We make no warranty that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for your specific circumstances.

4. Your responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the Service for lawful purposes only.
  • Not attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or bypass any security measures.
  • Not scrape, republish, or resell calculator results or site content in bulk without written permission.
  • Not use automated systems (bots, scripts) to generate excessive requests that degrade the Service for others.

5. Intellectual property

CalcBold branding, calculator designs, written explanations, and site code are © the current year, SemiSoftwares. Standard formulas (EMI, BMI, TDEE, etc.) are in the public domain and may be used without attribution. Our written commentary around those formulas may not be copied in bulk to competing sites.

6. AI-powered insights

The “AI insight” feature uses a large language model to generate plain-English explanations of your result. AI output can contain errors, may occasionally miss nuance, and should be treated as conversational assistance, not authoritative fact. Do not act on an AI insight without cross-checking against the methodology and primary sources cited on each calculator page.

7. Embed terms

You may embed any CalcBold calculator on your own website, blog, newsletter, course, or product, subject to the conditions below. The embed is free for any use, including commercial — there is no per-impression fee, no API key, no signup required.

7.1 Attribution.The embed surface includes a subtle “Powered by CalcBold” link in the footer. You must not hide, obscure, restyle, or remove this link on the free tier. If you require an unbranded embed, the Pro tier ($9/mo when launched) removes the link cleanly. Removing the link via CSS, JavaScript, or DOM manipulation while on the free tier is a violation of these Terms and may result in your domain being blocked from loading the embed.

7.2 No warranty for the embed. The embed is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uptime, formula correctness, visual consistency across browsers, or compatibility with future versions of your CMS / platform. Test the embed on your site before relying on it for a critical use case.

7.3 Updates. Calculator improvements ship to every embed automatically. We may at our discretion change the formula, UI, layout, or behavior of an embed without notice if the change improves accuracy or user experience. We will not change the embed URL pattern or break existing embeds without a 30-day notice and a migration path.

7.4 No reverse-engineering. You may not download, mirror, or rehost the embed iframe contents on a different domain. The embed must load from calcbold.com at runtime so improvements propagate.

7.5 Removal. We reserve the right to block specific domains or block specific calculator slugs from loading on specific domains in cases of abuse, hate speech, illegal use, or substantial harm to our reputation. Such blocks are rare and made via written notice except in emergencies.

7.6 Liability. By embedding our calculator on your site, you do not transfer or assume liability for the formula itself — sections 9 and 10 below apply to embedded uses just as they apply to direct visits.

8. Third-party services

The Service integrates with Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Anthropic’s Claude API, Cloudflare, and (optionally) Microsoft Clarity, Sentry, and Cloudflare Web Analytics. By using the Service you accept their respective terms. We are not liable for the content, functionality, or policies of third parties.

9. Advertising and affiliate disclosure

Calculator pages on the public site include advertisements served by Google AdSense. We do not endorse any advertised product and are not responsible for their quality, safety, or legality. If you encounter an ad that violates Google’s policies, please report it via the ad’s built-in “Ad options” link.

Affiliate disclosure. When affiliate partnerships launch in Phase M (planned for Month 3+), some calculators may include relevant affiliate links — for example, the Loan EMI calculator may link to a refinance comparison partner, the Subscription Audit calculator may link to a trial-cancellation tool. We will mark every affiliate link with a clearly labelled(affiliate) tag, disclose any commission relationship on the calculator page, and never let an affiliate relationship influence the calculator math or the AI insight wording.

10. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CalcBold and SemiSoftwares shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the Service or any embed of the Service — including financial loss, health outcomes, or missed deadlines — even if advised of the possibility. Total cumulative liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months (which, for free users, is USD $0).

12. DMCA — copyright takedown

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content accessible on calcbold.com or in our embeds infringes your copyright, send a written notice that includes:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • Identification of the material to be removed and information sufficient to locate it (a calcbold.com URL).
  • Your contact information — address, telephone, email.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized.
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act.

Designated DMCA agent: [email protected]. We respond within 14 days of a valid notice. We may forward the notice to whoever posted the material if applicable, and we may terminate access for repeat infringers per 17 U.S.C. § 512(i).

Counter-notices follow the standard DMCA § 512(g) process and should also be sent to [email protected].

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be reflected in the Effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which SemiSoftwares is incorporated. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
