About the 24 cm Nonstick Frying Pan with Glass Lid
A 24 cm aluminium pan with a nonstick interior and a vented glass lid. The sides are high enough to hold a sauce or a stew rather than only frying, which is what makes a single pan cover most of the week — eggs in the morning, a sear at night, and a lid on it in between. Suitable for gas and electric hobs. A silicone spatula is included so nothing metal ever touches the coating. Hand wash, and never heat it empty on high, which is what destroys nonstick coatings faster than any utensil.
What's inside
- 24 cm diameter, aluminium body
- Nonstick interior, vented glass lid
- Gas and electric hob compatible
- Silicone spatula included
- Hand wash — no dishwasher, no metal utensils
Still deciding? How Many Pans Do You Actually Need?
Four pieces cover roughly 90 percent of home cooking: a 10 or 12 inch skillet, a 3 quart saucepan, a 6 to 7 quart Dutch oven or stockpot, and one sheet pan. Buy those four at good quality rather than a 15-piece set at the same price, then add specific pieces only when a recipe you actually cook demands one. Set size should follow household size loosely: one or two people can run on the four core pieces, four or more benefit from a second skillet and a larger stockpot.
Questions about the 24 cm Nonstick Frying Pan with Glass Lid
Does it work on an induction hob?
The supplier lists it as gas and electric compatible and does not state induction. Aluminium alone is not magnetic, so unless a steel base plate is bonded on it will not work on induction — and since that is not specified, we cannot promise it will.
Is it dishwasher safe?
We recommend hand washing regardless of what any nonstick pan claims. Dishwasher detergent is abrasive and degrades nonstick coatings noticeably faster than a sponge and warm water.
What is the coating made of?
The supplier describes it as a nonstick coating on an aluminium body and markets it with a titanium-reinforced claim we have not independently verified, so we do not repeat that claim as fact.
Can I use metal utensils in it?
No. Metal will score any nonstick surface, which is why a silicone spatula ships with the pan. Silicone or wood only.
How deep is the pan?
Deep enough to hold liquid and use the lid for braising rather than only shallow frying. The supplier publishes the diameter but not the wall height, so we quote the 24 cm figure and not a depth.
