About the Airtight Food Storage Container, 304 Stainless

A 304 stainless container with a sealing lid, for the leftovers plastic never quite recovers from. Stainless does not stain, does not hold onto curry or garlic, and will not go cloudy in the dishwasher. Stacks flat in a fridge and goes straight into a bag for lunch.

What's inside

  • 304 food-grade stainless steel body
  • Airtight sealing lid
  • Choose 700ml, 1000ml, 1200ml, 1800ml, 1900ml or 3000ml
  • Dishwasher safe; body is freezer safe

Still deciding? How Many Food Storage Containers Do You Need?

As a working number, plan on roughly 6 to 8 containers per person for a household that cooks and stores leftovers regularly: about 8 for one person, 14 to 16 for two, and 24 to 30 for a family of four. Weight them toward mid-size (2 to 4 cup) containers, which handle most leftovers, and buy a single system where every lid fits multiple bases. Mixed systems are the reason drawers overflow while nothing has a matching lid.

Questions about the Airtight Food Storage Container, 304 Stainless

What sizes are available?

700ml, 1000ml, 1200ml, 1800ml, 1900ml and 3000ml. Choose at checkout.

Is it dishwasher and freezer safe?

The body is both. It is 304 food-grade stainless, so it will not go cloudy in a dishwasher the way plastic does.

Can it go in the microwave?

No. No stainless steel container can go in a microwave. Decant into a microwave-safe dish first.

Does it hold onto smells?

No. Stainless does not stain or absorb odour, which is the main reason to move leftovers out of plastic — curry and garlic do not survive in the container the way they do in polypropylene.

Is the lid genuinely airtight?

The lid seals, which is what keeps food fresh and stops a bag leaking. Treat it as leak-resistant rather than pressure-tight, and carry liquids upright.
